custom is not a valid license identifier anymore -- it needs to be SPDX compliant:

cx23885-firmware E: custom is not a valid SPDX license identifier. See https://spdx.org/licenses/ for valid identifiers, or prefix the identifier with 'LicenseRef-', if it is custom.

Also, you need to install the license text into /usr/share/licenses/${pkgname}/.

Source checksum verification fails:

==> Validating source files with sha256sums...
    HVR-12x0-14x0-17x0_1_25_25271_WHQL.zip ... Passed
    extract.sh ... FAILED
    readme.txt ... FAILED

Turns out that you have provided those files also within the git repository of this package -- when you download them from upstream, please remove them from the git repository here!

Regards and thanks for maintaining!

extract.sh and readme.txt are too generic to have them as such in source:
On machines where $SRCDEST is set (e.g. in /etc/makepkg.conf), all source files get downloaded into the same place.

Having generic filenames is prone to conflicts.

Please change by specifiying a more specific filename by prepending it with :: to the source array, e.g.:

source=('http://steventoth.net/linux/hvr1800/HVR-12x0-14x0-17x0_1_25_25271_WHQL.zip'
        '${pkgname}-extract.sh::http://steventoth.net/linux/hvr1800/extract.sh'
        '${pkgname}-readme.txt::http://steventoth.net/linux/hvr1800/readme.txt')

Regards and thanks for maintaining!
