Unflagged out-of-date. Version that supports both "Newcore" and "Old" is available now in svn and works correctly.

Linux moves in mysterious ways.. I got an update of qt4 yesterday... and it has already been fixed.. :)

You can add x86_64 since it works perfectly

What version of qt4? Also try: source /etc/profile.d/qt4.sh, and make clean; make release.

I get this compilation option. Although I am using x86_64 and the PKGBUILD is i686 only, I have a hard time believing this is the reason for failure considering the following error:

==> Starting make...
qt.prf:122: Unknown test function: qtAddLibrary
qt.prf:122: Unknown test function: qtAddLibrary
qt.prf:122: Unknown test function: qtAddLibrary
make -f Makefile.Release

In file included from headmenu.cpp:32:
headmenu.h:35:17: error: QMenu: No such file or directory

If you would be able to fix this (I can't see it right away and do not have time now, perhaps later today), I would love to test it on x86_64.
