Got an error on fresh install:

only ttf files are supported
failed to load font: DejaVuSans-14
fatal loading error
failed to load theme: native

This asked for the ttf-dejavu packet. Maybe make it depend on that because it won't start in anyway on fresh install.
Moved to [community] repo. Thanks to nsf for maintaining this until now.
pkgconfig should be listed as a make dependency, yes. But I'm lazy, I'll add it someday. Everyone who builds something from sources has it anyway.
The same about libxcomposite and libxrender. They are present in every Xorg/xlib package I think, so it's minor thing. Maybe someday. :)

libxcomposite and libxrender shout be optional, i think. Who don't use composite don't have install this deps.

BMPanel is a lightweight panel with taskbar, tray, desktop switcher and clock. It is themeable reincarnation of fspanel. Panel should work with NETWM (aka EWMH) compliant window manager (tested on openbox3). Systray follows only systray-spec, KDE tray is not supported.
