Well I'm using the -svn package on my box, and when I test this package I test it with that "version" of ffmpeg-amr that by the way is the first version of ffmpeg-amr ever appeared on the AUR

plz do not use ffmpeg-amr-svn there is a fully working ffmpeg-amr package

Now it should be ok, I've rearranged quite a lot of things so please give me a feedback.

Well...you are not in chat so please be patient, and if you don't want to fix this by yourself you can write in a proper way which problems you are experiencing...in some hours I could fix the problem.

checking for SWSCALE... no
configure: error: Could not find libswscale. Use --disable-swscale to ignore this error. Proper software scaling and some video chroma conversion will be missing.

add libavc1394, 264-git and opencore-amr

maybe you should review the VLC dependencies :/

Thanks for the suggestion

In that case, we have the perfect solution:

$optdepends

:)

edit: oh wait no. let's see..

optdepends=('firefox: to make use of the plugin')

That's not right, I got confused - sorry. But no, you don't need to depend on firefox just because this provides a plug-in for it. Make the few pay the price, instead of everyone :)

Based on vlc 1.0.3. The Firefox stuff is because I liked the idea of buidling a complete package, so the mozilla plugin too. Obviously building the plugin without having Firefox is quite nonsense..even if now that you mention I think that forcing users to install firefox in order to build this package is odd too. So should I change this?

Holy shit..firefox?

Ok, i'll add this you're right
Comment by: Dragonlord on Fri, 25 Apr 2008 23:04:42 +0000
Ok, my mistake :) Good explanation though. Then I suggest "subversion" as makedepends, even if it isn't a real svn package.
Comment by: Demind on Fri, 25 Apr 2008 15:04:10 +0000
The package obviously conflicts with vlc, in fact i'm going to add this to PKGBUILD. 3gp is a media format that can be read by portable phone. Standard vlc can't play correctly this kind of media so i made this PKGBUILD for people that have this need...it's NOT a CVS o SVN version, i use ffmpeg-svn inside only to provide last version of codecs but i use the last vlc version, present in arch's repo too. So it's a modified vlc with some extra functions..not a CVS or SVN version..
Put like that i believe its name is ok but any other suggestion is wellcome! :)
Comment by: Dragonlord on Fri, 25 Apr 2008 12:56:09 +0000
I suggest you read Arch CVS & SVN PKGBUILD guidelines in the wiki one more. Adding -svn to the package name would be good idea (don't know what 3gp means). And I'm almost 100% sure, this package conflicts=/provides= something. Anyway, keep up your work :)
