Dipendenze netcfg
I'm orphaning all my packages. If you are interested in any of them, please contact me by IRC (thotypous @ irc.freenode.net) or by mail until 2010-02-13 so I can pass the maintainership to you. Otherwise, at 2010-02-13 all the packages will be left orphaned.
How did you configure it? I tried the driver and its very very slow for me.
Correcting my first comment, the single file this package installs is '/usr/lib/network/wirelessral.subr'.
This package should work if "iwpriv" shows the following settings. It works both with CVS and main-kernel versions.
enc (8BE8) : set 1 int & get 0
wpapsk (8BEA) : set 64 char & get 0
This package tells netcfg2 to use "iwpriv" to setup the WPA connection, and it's almost times much more stable than wpa_supplicant.
BTW, I couldn't get wpa_supplicant to work at all with some cards, so this package is the only solution by now.
why you should want this?
ralink support in the main kernel is much more advanced, I've talked and discussed with the kernel dev. Also it fixes all my issues I got using the legacy driver: stable connection as hell and good performances!
Tested with my dlink usb.
(2.6.24 got some issues, 2.6.25 is stable).
If you want a snapshot of the development drivers install compat wireless from aur
This is a little self-contained package that adds support to Ralink wireless card with WPA support to your netcfg2 profiles.
It installs a single file, '/usr/lib/network/wireless.subr', that allows you to choose the following CONNECTION setting when setuping netcfg2 profiles:
CONNECTION="wirelessral"
Then you can setup your netcfg2 wireless profiles as in examples and documentation, only replacing "wireless" by "wirelessral" as below.
This package was tested a lot with a rt73 card using rt73-cvs driver from AUR, and showed to be very stable.
It can work with another cards from Ralink if your card's driver sets WPA by using the same iwpriv settings as rt73.
