That is a normal yaourt warning for every package. You may want to read up on yaourt and the AUR before using them...
http://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Yaourt
http://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/AUR
It is giving me an error, it said "Unsupported package: Potentally dangerous !" Edit the PKGBUILD (highly recomended for security reasons) and the optios [Y/n] A to abort.
any suggestion?
neroexpress bug fixed.
I created the nerolinux3 package for those inconvenienced by the 4.0 release.
You have to set /usr/bin/neroexpress to have executable permissions. Everything else works out-of-box (I bought version 4.0).
@eWoud Thanks for this PKGBUILD!
do we know why it says the key is already expired? I tried installing the trial from the website, but it has the same result. Somehow I feel like I'm missing a registration step or something
any tips?
Mirror: http://unix.oppserver.net/nero/?C=N;O=D
Found v3.5.3.1 here: http://mirror.yandex.ru/fedora/tigro/non-free/10/x86_64/
It's the RPM.. But you can make an arch package by using the PKGBUILD posted below..
@ fukawi2. You are quite right, it is still commercial software. But some people DID pay for Nerolinux v3. They have probably upgraded to v4 during a system update without realising they have to pay for a NEW serial to use with v4. In most cases they probably don't want to pay the upgrade fee and would have happily stuck with version 3 which they already owned.
@ kalpik. These are not the very latest versions. But they are Arch pkg's for Nerolinux 3. Uninstall nerolinux4 (yaourt -R nerolinux) and then download and install one of the packages below (eg. yaourt -U /home/Nixie/nerolinux-3.5.2.0-1-x86_64.pkg.tar.gz). In my case I also had to reinstall another package which must have been removed during the initial upgrade from v3 to v4 (yaourt -S cdrdao)
http://easylinuxguide.com/downloads/archpkgs/ELG/nerolinux-3.5.2.0-1-i686.pkg.tar.gz
http://easylinuxguide.com/downloads/archpkgs/ELG64/nerolinux-3.5.2.0-1-x86_64.pkg.tar.gz
Check the packages on that site in the future just in case they host a copy of the very last version of nerolinux 3.5
Can i have the PKGBUILD for nerolinux 3.x?
To everyone asking for serial keys: Even though this is a Linux version, it is still commercial software that requires paid registration. This PKGBUILD is the trial version of Nero. You still have to pay for registration to get the full version.
So stop asking for serial keys and either pay for one, or use something else!
This should be listed as a separate version of nerolinux. NOT as a normal update. Nerolinux 3 used the same serial number as my old windows version of Nero 6 to activate it.
This new release of Nerolinux 4 is not the same & requires a different serial number to use, so anyone who upgraded is screwed and has lost the program.
Serial ?
neroexpress also needs to be chmod'ed
- chmod +x usr/bin/nero usr/bin/nerocmd
+ chmod +x usr/bin/nero usr/bin/nerocmd usr/bin/neroexpress
Yes^W Of course not :-).
You have to be joking Sonic. You want Arch to assist you in pirating software?
Serial? :)
Update to 4.0.0.0. Thanks for hosting the files, fukawi2.
renya - see previous comment about unique hashes being used in the download URL. Both the link you posted and the one I posted aren't valid anymore.
This makes it impossible to maintain an up to date PKGBUILD using the Nero FTP server.
eWoud - I'm hosting the files on my server if you want to change the PKGBUILD to download from there?
http://repo.fukawi2.nl/nero/
Both the x86 and x86_64 versions there.
Please update pkg.
pkgver=4.0.0.0
ftp://ftp5.usw.nero.com/PUB/3b9cb31f2320d286c86c123c2d21fc29/nerolinux-4.0.0.0-x86.rpm
It appears that the download link has changed to use a unique hash as part of the URL. For example:
ftp://ftp5.usw.nero.com/PUB/e8879df41cb66cc806c4c40a3aa7d067/nerolinux-3.5.3.1-x86.rpm
This is so they can get your e-mail address before download :-|
what's wrong with server? cannot get rpm
server doesn't answer from a web download neither

enjoy :)

Something as come to my attention,
/usr/lib64 usually doesn't exist but when one installs OSSv4 /usr/lib64 is a link to /usr/lib/oss/lib/libOSSlib.so
This package also provides its own /usr/lib64 (a directory with files inside), this somehow is a conflict.
Could you look into this and comment?
This is a bit outdated. If you still want to install nerolinux use this:

thanks for keeping on top of updates eWoud :)
update to 3.5.3.1
Most likely nero doesn't allow reassembling and redistributing the application.
Thank You! I got question, why it can't be moved to community? I know there are licenses but this is trail anyway =P.
Working great.
Thanks!
3.5.2.0 out
Just installed nerolinux-3.5.1.0-3
when i run it, it says: "Some icons cannot be found" "please check your nero linux installation".
Icons seems to be there and strace doesn't seems to miss anything:
http://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=59109
what am i missing?
done.
Nero now comes with a console application "nerocmd" for using Nero from a script, but this is not executable. Please add something like "chmod +x usr/bin/nerocmd" to the PKGBUILD.
Cheers,
Yogi
Fixed the x64 md5sum. Thanks Thief_hu
x86_64 md5sum wrong, update it to 42653570eb83fe3567e4a421d26c2e29
Thanks.

please change license=()

Hi, I would like to share this PKGBUILD for nerolinux. It supports x86 and x86_64 too. On x86_64 tested, works fine, for me ;) Some lines added to nerolinux.install on behalf of beginner users.
You can access the files at:
http://insecurity.hu/archlinux/nerolinux/
update to 3.0.1.3
almost forgot nerolinux.install
Fixed. Thanks for the direct link to Ahead's ftp.
maybe autor can reokace it (PKGBULD added by fatsobob) because this PKGBUILD is working, autor's PKGBUILD no.
Heres a working PKGBUILD, Nothing new, just updated to nonbeta and new MD5sum and proper download source.

Yes, like the comment above, there's a new version (it's now out of beta), except changing filename won't work now. I guess new links generated for each person. Download from their website is straight-forward though.
Final version available from same place.
The PKGBUILD is still OK ( filename nerolinux-3.0.0.0-x86.rpm , new md5sum 43d35405cbc8dd0078949e8cc763a999 )
This is because you are using pacman3, which does require the architecture being defined. Either add it to the PKGBUILD yourself, or build using the latest yaourt (0.7.6).
hello i have this error.
==> ERROR: nerolinux is not available for the \'i686\' architecture.
Note that many packages may need a line added to their PKGBUILD
such as arch=(\'i686\').
Moved the EULAs to /usr/share/licenses/nerolinux.
it would be better to install the license.
Thank you!
sure.
Can you please add a post-install message which says to put users in \"optical\" group to make NeroLinux detect CD/DVD writers?
Removed.
Update to 3.0.0beta
Which looks like an enormous improvement.

update to 2.1.0.4
I don\'t think it\'s wise to post (illegal) nero serials here
I\'m sorry, but may be will better to use deb package instead rpm as source with such build function?

funny how an app like this draws attention :)
but yeah probably the best thing to do unless its GPL or X11 or something like that, PKGBUILD modified
license=\"commercial\"
That is incorrect usage of the field - please leave it blank rather than guessing :)
indeed it should, modified
gtk is a dependency. Further you can remove xorg as a dependency, as gtk has the x-server already as a dependency.
requires a valid nero6 full key
