barriers were a more subtle problem - best to do everything explicitly here
barrier=0 means turn them OFF, which means MORE FAILSAFE filesystem

Sublevel is now EXTRAVERSION
There's some new packaging logic from the vanilla PKGBUILD - sets up an "extramodules" dir, I don't remember the reasoning but whatevs
I hand-edited the new config a little just to make the commit look cleaner

I had believed 3.0.4 was the same as 3.1-rc4, which was stupid.
Linus' github repo does NOT track or offer the STABLE releases - those are done elsewhere
So we must use a 3rd-party mirror.
