Tests fail with numpy >= 2.4.0, which is caused by problems in the code
rather than the tests.
Failing tests are in {classifiers,detectors}.py

* pinned commit not needed anymore
* do pin the sample-data commit as it may change (though this seems
unlikely after 12 years with no changes).

The tests pass but the package itself is untested.
The last upstream release is broken, so we pick the last commit from
the develop branch which contains many fixes (it seems all commits are
needed, and it was impossible to cherry pick most crucial ones, at
least cleanly).
