Both this package and the non-git version will give a conflict with the soon to come move from /bin, /sbin , /usr/sbin to /usr/bin .

I love openrc better than systemd and no brainfuck.

I've been using OpenRC for a couple months now, so I'm not sure I agree with "not ready for everyday use." Although, obviously, if you use a DE that requires systemd it won't work for you, but that's not something that's going to be fixed in this package.
net-tools was missing as a dependency, your network issue should be fixed now.

I made a forum post concerning OpenRC here:
https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=152606
I managed to to fix a couple of bugs and OpenRC now runs fine.
But, OpneRC pkgbuilds are not ready for everyday use at the moment, they lack network support entirely.
I would be willing to help.

I'll support it for as long as I can spare the time necessary.

Are you going to continue supporting this package for any considerable ammount of time?

For information on configuring OpenRC see the Gentoo docs, but remember that files are in /etc/openrc instead of /etc.

I've been using this on one of my systems for a few weeks now. It's a simple setup, but it hasn't had any problems. This package also installs all of openrc's files in /etc/openrc so that it won't conflict with systemd or initscripts; so if you do have problems with it you can easily go back to one of those. There aren't many service files included in the service package, but many of them can be pulled from Gentoo and you can submit them to me once you verify they work and I'll include them.
All you need to do to use this is install it and add init=/sbin/init-openrc to your kernel boot parameters.
