pls, add to build() function in PKGBUILD: export LIBS="-lgtk-x11-2.0 -lgobject-2.0" otherwise we are getting: /usr/bin/ld: 4Pane_MyFrame.o: undefined reference to symbol 'gtk_settings_get_default' /usr/bin/ld: note: 'gtk_settings_get_default' is defined in DSO /usr/lib/libgtk-x11-2.0.so.0 so try adding it to the linker command line /usr/lib/libgtk-x11-2.0.so.0: could not read symbols: Invalid operation collect2: error: ld returned 1 exit status make: *** [4Pane] Error 1

URL needs to be updated is: http://downloads.sourceforge.net/project/fourpane/4Pane/${pkgver}/4Pane-0.7.0.tar.gz needs to be http://sourceforge.net/projects/fourpane/files/${pkgver}/4Pane-0.7.0.tar.gz

It works, because the missing full url makes the file searchable in the directory, where it is ;)

The 4Pane.desktop file is missing the full URL, you will need to change the line 11 to: source=('http://downloads.sourceforge.net/project/fourpane/4Pane/${pkgver}/4Pane-0.7.0.tar.gz' 'http://aur.archlinux.org/packages/4pane/4pane/4Pane.desktop')
