You may get a missing dependencies error if you use aura to install AUR packages. Just install the missing dependencies manually, then try reinstalling the package.

prurigro commented on 2016-09-14 18:04

This package hasn't been supported by Adobe for quite some time now so I've decided to drop it

ChaosKid42 commented on 2015-10-08 15:48

Would you mind dependencies to lib32-libxt, lib32-libxtst, libxt, and libxtst?

I believe those are missing in the PKGBUILD.

prurigro commented on 2015-06-13 04:34

@grondinm: Strange, the old link worked for me, but I see no reason not to use the one you're suggesting and have changed it to that. If you only made the suggestion because your link won't change as the package version changes, it wasn't really necessary as Adobe has stopped making releases for Linux :(. Either way, thanks for the feedback!

@schard: I'm not sure why your permissions are different than the ones in the package generated when I run makepkg, but I've updated the PKGBUILD to explicitly set this in case others run into the same issue (it's not hurting anything). Thanks for the feedback!

prurigro commented on 2014-05-03 20:37

Tweaked the package to override the 32bit deps on 64bit rather than using an if/else so that the AUR shows the dependencies.

prurigro commented on 2014-05-03 20:35

@ilpianista: your profile script is now included!

@ansch & @terkel & @noobfromby: Hey guys, I did some tests and couldn't figure out what your issue was until I took a second look and realized I'd misread the problem. What you're running into isn't actually a problem at all; the gcc-multilib* packages are direct drop-in replacements for gcc* packages, with the only difference being that the gcc-multilib* ones are capable of compiling both 64bit -and- 32bit while the gcc* packages you currently have are only capable of compiling 64bit. If it doesn't let you automatically upgrade from gcc to gcc-multilib, try installing it directly first. Check out for details. Unfortunately this is rooted in how pacman behaves, and I'm not aware of any way to make the process less complex aside from adding instructions to the package that people would need to manually search through to find since I can't script anything prior to dependency resolution (which is where you're running into this), but if you think of something that might help definitely let me know and I'll throw it in if I agree that it'll work.

prurigro commented on 2014-05-03 19:55

Hey all- maintainer here, I'll take a look at 64bit and will add an AIR_HOME profile script before the weekend is out.

ilpianista commented on 2014-05-03 16:41

could you please export AIR_HOME in a profile script?

ansch commented on 2014-04-23 17:14

Same issue here. Would love to know how to get this working on 64bit.

terkel commented on 2014-04-21 18:25

I ve got the same issue as noobfromby...

noobfromby commented on 2014-04-03 17:06

Maintainer, pls say me, how to install Adobe air on 64 bit system. When i install dependensy(lib32-libxslt) it say that i should delete gcc-libs and gcc, because gcc-libs-multilib and gcc-libc are conflicts. I don't want to delete gcc, how i can install air, without deleting gcc?

prurigro commented on 2013-05-06 11:10

@felixonmars: Updated to package(), thanks :) (I'm slowly moving packages over to the new format as I get time)

@vgevorgyan: I just checked to make sure and lib32-libxslt is still alive and well, though you need to grab it from the aur

@Freso: I'm not sure I understand what you mean? Certain files are left out and the important ones are installed to the adobe air directory in /opt?

felixonmars commented on 2013-04-10 04:19

Please rename build() to package(), as using a PKGBUILD without a package() function is deprecated since pacman 4.1

Anonymous comment on 2013-02-12 06:35

You have added lib32-libxslt in dependency but currently that package not exists in repository.

orospakr commented on 2013-02-04 01:23

Hey, this package doesn't include the `adobe-air` package installer launcher thing (and presumably the associated xdg mime type association).

This means downloaded .air files won't gracefully install.

Freso commented on 2013-01-16 17:34

This package takes everything in $srcdir and installs it. Please only install the files actually placed in $srcdir by it.

prurigro commented on 2012-11-05 09:53

@Marcel_K: Ahoy there- without anymore updates from Adobe for the past however long, this package definitely fell behind in best practice updates :) Thanks for noticing! (The new revision fixes your issues)

Marcel_K commented on 2012-11-02 22:29

Please quote all instances of ${srcdir} and ${pkgdir} to allow for spaces in directory names. Moreover, you can remove all instances of `|| return 1`; they are not needed anymore. And you don't have to use pushd at the beginning and popd at the end.

prurigro commented on 2012-09-25 07:43

KaBooFa: Thanks for the fix! I've added lib32-libxslt as a dep to 64bit and libxslt as a dep to 32bit

Anonymous comment on 2012-09-24 20:55

Needed to install lib32-libxslt to avoid the '1009 HTMLLoader failed to initialize' error.

speps commented on 2012-05-10 22:24

bin32-adobe-air is now provided by adobe-air-sdk, merging
@syne thanks for taking care of it till now, cheers

syne commented on 2012-04-11 06:07

It's weird, because not everybody needs lib32-libxt for that error to go away. But ok, I'll add it:)

ichramm commented on 2012-04-10 21:55

Hi, I was having the error

Error: HTMLLoader failed to initialize

Until I've installed lib32-libxt

Maybe lib32-libxt should be a dependency for bin32-adobe-air?

prurigro commented on 2012-03-08 09:57

felixonmars: done :)

felixonmars commented on 2012-03-08 07:12

Please add dependence: lib32-gtk2

arslonga commented on 2011-11-30 14:42

@prurigro maybe a comment at the beginning of the file telling that the user must have the [multilib] repository enabled in /etc/pacman.conf

prurigro commented on 2011-11-16 04:32

@rjack: would you recommend any tweaks to the PKGBUILD based on what you needed to do?

arslonga commented on 2011-11-15 00:31

Solved, I just had to enable the multilib repository:

arslonga commented on 2011-11-12 20:41

How can I install this in a x64 system?

[gcm@minimo adobe-air-sdk]$ makepkg -s

==> ERROR: 'pacman' failed to install missing dependencies.

Anonymous comment on 2011-09-06 18:20

If you have problem with "Error loading the runtime ( cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory)" you have to install lib32-gtk2 :)

syne commented on 2011-08-13 14:03

Adobe has discontinued developing AIR for Linux, so, 2.6 is the last version. Hope they'll reconsider!

Anonymous comment on 2011-07-09 11:55

And you can and should remove all those "|| return 1" as they aren't necessary anymore for a long time.

Anonymous comment on 2011-07-09 11:35

Why do you need pushd and popd in the PKGBUILD? Wouldn't a simple cd be enough?

Anonymous comment on 2011-06-26 20:01

Getting this error on x86_64:

==> Building and installing package

Anonymous comment on 2011-06-26 04:54

[zzd@KArch Desktop]$ /opt/adobe-air-sdk/bin/adl -nodebug /home/zzd/Desktop/WebQQ.air
Error loading the runtime ( cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory)

monson commented on 2011-06-07 05:11

Due to lots of dependence lost in x86_64, maybe it is better to change to arch=('i686') only and fork the x64 branch?
Or please add up all the dependence in $CARCH=='x86_64'.

Anonymous comment on 2011-06-04 15:00

is there any way to build the version 2.5.2? maybe a old PKGBUILD

would you mind adding a profile.d script to add /opt/adobe-air-sdk/bin to PATH automatically? if you don't have time, i can adopt the package btw.

syne commented on 2011-05-10 13:05

dependencies updated.

anpieber commented on 2011-05-10 02:04

yeah, same issue (HtmlLoader) and same solution (lib32-libxslt, lib32-xcb-util). Could those be added as dependencies please

syne commented on 2011-04-17 21:22

and this is a recent issue? you haven't had problems with previous versions of AIR? what DE are you using?

(have you checked out this topic? hope it helps)

lib32-libxslt, lib32-xcb-util - and no problem! thx for help!

all what i try to run...

syne commented on 2011-04-17 19:23

the GTK warning is not a major error, program will work regardless of it. but this HTMLLoader error troubles me. try instaling lib32-xt and lib32-xtst as was suggested some comments below, but i am having no problems myself.
what AIR program gives you this error?

Anonymous comment on 2011-04-17 19:19

Gtk-WARNING **: Unable to locate theme engine in module_path: “oxygen-gtk”
HTMLLoader failed to initialize

How its work? oxygen-gtk are installed and works good with other gtk+ apps.

@david.runge: For some reason I can't seem to reproduce the md5sum error you reported, would you be able to download and build the PKGBUILD from scratch, then post the error you get along with the md5sum for AdobeAIRSDK.tbz2? Also, I can't see how this would effect anything, but figure its worth covering all the bases; are you 64bit? Thanks :)

prurigro commented on 2011-03-30 23:52

Seems to happen after some releases, tweaking the package maybe- I'll have an update up in a minute

dvzrv commented on 2011-03-30 11:19

still got a problem with the PKGBUILD because of wrong md5sums.

thof commented on 2011-03-28 18:33

I can't find any lib32 required by x86_64. What happened to them?

prurigro commented on 2011-03-28 02:09

Thanks for the heads up @AndreasBWagner- I've updated the package to version 2.6 :)

syne commented on 2011-03-23 19:31

hi, guys! i'm really sorry, but if you want it updated asap, somebody has to build the new pkg with makepkg --source and send it to me. i am currently doing a destructive badblocks check on my hard drive and don't know when i'll be done or if my drive will ever work again:D

lowfatcomputing commented on 2011-03-22 16:37

The md5sum is wrong and all instances of "SDK\ license.pdf" should be replaced with "AIR\ SDK\ license.pdf"

gasmith commented on 2011-03-22 16:28

The md5sum has changed, and the SDK license pdf has moved.

Anonymous comment on 2011-03-21 23:48

Looks like the version/internal structure of the SDK has changed. This should fix it, although I wouldn't apply it until further validation is done by the maintainer since it requires changing an MD5Sum. >>>

prurigro commented on 2011-03-02 06:28

@colomar: if packages are gonna randomly require nss then that's a requirement in my mind, and I've added it to the deps- thanks for the heads up!

colomar commented on 2011-02-22 12:29

Some applications need nss / lib32-nss to run. Maybe this should be made an optional dependency?

prurigro commented on 2011-02-08 03:19

@Maxr: Thanks for catching that! I've edited the package to reflect the fix.

Maxr commented on 2011-02-06 00:16

The License is being copied to /usr/share/licences/adobe-air-sdk , it should be /usr/share/licenses/adobe-air-sdk (notice the 's' instead of 'c').

Fix Error: HTMLLoader failed to initializeTypeError: Error #1009 in apps with this.

syne commented on 2010-12-02 16:11

@george.p tested this pkg with destroytwitter, and the minimum number of dependencies needed (for a LXDE desktop) is now incorporated into the PKGBUILD. are you running a KDE desktop? any other DE's experiencing some troubles? please let me know so i can optdep necessary pkgs.
oh, and some dependencies were removed just because they are dependencies of the dependencies, so you will install them anyway:D just to make that clear and short.

Anonymous comment on 2010-12-02 11:32

prurigro commented on 2010-11-12 07:20

Not sure what the difference was since the package still considers itself version 2.5, but the md5sum changed like @chheien pointed out, and so I've uploaded a new revision with the updated md5sum.

chheien commented on 2010-11-12 06:15

New md5 or sha1:

prurigro commented on 2010-11-08 21:20

The package now supports version 2.5

@ruhtranayr: Thanks for putting up the interim solution

Anonymous comment on 2010-11-04 08:07

...built and successfully installed with pacman

Anonymous comment on 2010-10-29 12:08

Version 2.5 of the SDK is out now....

prurigro commented on 2010-10-18 08:14

Thanks @ndowens for the missing deps for both archs, I've released 2.0.2rev2 to include those updates

@sonartica & @misc: 2.0.3 and 2.0.4 don't seem to be available for the SDK yet, feel free to reflag this package out of date when an update is released; building the package will give an md5sum error when this occurs, since the download is always to the latest version.

sonartica commented on 2010-10-11 21:29

Please, update to 2.0.4... I'd do it myself but i dunno how u_u

ndowens commented on 2010-09-27 05:55 Here is a PKGBUILD correcting the dependencies that are missing and adds the deps for x86_64 as well. Use it for the latest version of AIR as well.

syne commented on 2010-09-24 16:00

lib32-xcb-util should be a dependency.
also, made a pkg of lib32-qt3

misc commented on 2010-09-17 11:41

Here's a mirror in case it gets deleted:

My mistake, the package is now at 2.0.2- Thanks!

Xavion commented on 2010-07-28 06:59

The actual version number is "2.0.2", instead of the "2.02" that you're using. Please add the extra dot, as other packages depend on this one.

syne commented on 2010-07-14 07:07

@prurigro check your aur mail, i'm sure i sent you a link with all the libraries required for AIR 2.

prurigro commented on 2010-07-06 18:00

@andrew9888: none are listed on their website, but I'm sure it requires 'something' to render itself-- if you (or anyone else reading this) had to download something to get it working, let me know!
