AeroFS will be shutting down AeroFS Hybrid Cloud in June 2016. I will be maintaining this package until then, but I don't expect any updates. With this in mind, I will be disowning this package on June 1, 2016.

Package has been updated.

The latest .tar can be found at https://dsy5cjk52fz4a.cloudfront.net/aerofs-installer-0.8.83.tgz

Updated, thanks for the heads up.

katsh commented on 2014-08-24 04:10

To get the latest:

Edit the PKGBUILD to get the file from the url:
https://dsy5cjk52fz4a.cloudfront.net/aerofs-installer-0.8.61.tgz

Update the first checksum in the list to
e3771d5a1b00b94a148ffe3262412bc3

breul99 commented on 2014-07-26 22:13

Everything should work now, I updated the PKGBUILD to grab the installer from the new location and updated the MD5 hash.

To get it to work I built the package manually, adjusting PKGBUILD to use a local copy of aerofs-installer.tgz (which I manually downloaded from a trusted URL), and used SKIP for its md5.

Schornery commented on 2013-08-15 01:09

aeroFS has moved the installer to <https://dsy5cjk52fz4a.cloudfront.net/aerofs-installer.tgz>
PKGBUILD needs to be updated accordingly

lowfatcomputing commented on 2013-04-06 19:30

I just learned I can use 'SKIP' in place of an md5sum to skip that check.

Package updated.

teek commented on 2013-04-06 19:11

$ sudo aura -SA aerofs...

...
==> Validating source files with md5sums...
aerofs-installer.tgz ... FAILED

I read below that you suggest taking out MD5SUM checking? I vote yes, for the noobs that have to look up how to skip it themselves...

lowfatcomputing commented on 2013-03-30 20:12

I thought the epoch field would override pkgver, so I tried keeping the epoch fixed and changing the pkgver to see if yaourt still prompts me for an update and it did. Maybe this should be changed in yaourt et al?

What JRE do people use with this? I am getting errors with OpenJDK6/7.

Updated to 0.4.143

epitron commented on 2013-02-01 21:50

Should get rid of the MD5sum check? The packages have no version numbers, and they seem to change quite frequently.

Alternatively, since aerofs automatically updates itself, the upstream guys could put a package with a fixed version on their website for arch. :D

senorsmile commented on 2012-11-11 21:20

0.4.110 released and updated this. my main arch machine had problems so I wasn't able to get to this. I now have my main machine back up and a VM, both with the source synced with aerofs, so if either goes down I should still be able to update. As always, the program updates itself. This package only needed for initial install.

imrehg commented on 2011-12-05 02:07

Hi, if the package is out of date (since "md5 change" means just that, a new version) then can you please flag it as such? Thanks!

gotheric commented on 2011-12-04 23:18

Another md5 change: c184c8ca207ef89ae2bfd43f155b76aa
(replace first one in PKGBUILD)

ChristophLSA commented on 2011-10-15 22:22

new version is EW27.5 with new md5 hash

works with Java 7 since EA22.3

fukawi2 commented on 2011-07-29 11:39

Disowning this package as I don't use it anymore.

patrickh commented on 2011-07-08 21:03

Hi there!

Got my aerofs invitation and had some trouble setting it up. As it turned out, the Java 7 packages in community-testing caused some problems with missing x509-stuff. Maybe the dependency could be changed, so that it will require Java 6 for now?

Apart from that I only got it working with the most recent version EA17.6 from today, which I copied over the installed files. Any idea yet, how to reflect better to version updates?

fukawi2 commented on 2011-06-01 04:45

WARNING: This seems to like overwriting your .gtk-bookmarks file with it's own bookmark. Not happy!

fukawi2 commented on 2011-05-14 04:21

Thx; patch merged and new pkgbuild uploaded :)
Sorry for the md5sum error; I fixed this in a bit of a rush between other things at work.

imrehg commented on 2011-05-14 03:17

I think you need to take more care with the md5sums, right now you are just running a makepkg -g >> PKGBUILD, right? That adds the hash to the end of the file, but that means the PKGBUILD as it is now have more than one md5sum= section now. Also, the i686 and x86_64 versions have different hash.

fukawi2 commented on 2011-05-13 08:43

Ah, I see...! Thanks for pointing that out. Fixed:
https://github.com/fukawi2/aur-packages/commit/e43932c822d0ada1962e522b5b57d7234fac616e

imrehg commented on 2011-05-12 16:56

fikawi2: The program internally tries to update, so if you use it you'll see whenever there's a new version. The version number is also given there. The latest one (a new compared to the current md5sum in the package) is EA13.1

fukawi2 commented on 2011-05-11 07:42

AeroFS is still in beta and they haven't adopted any (public) versioning scheme so it's difficult to declare this out of date.

fukawi2 commented on 2011-05-04 23:25

NOTE THAT AEROFS IS STILL IN BETA. YOU MUST HAVE AN INVITATION FROM THE DEVS TO BE ABLE TO LOGIN.

Tested on x86_64.
