I don't use this package, but have taken to using the suffix -latest-bin for autoupdating packages, meaning they download the latest binary and apply the correct version number.
Take a look at beeper-latest-bin for an example of how to set up the pkgver and source. A more complicated example is pcsx2-latest-bin.
