To get rid of the -Werror=format-y2k.
Just edit the PKGBUILD and put "--enable-compile-warnings=no" at the end of the ./configure line on build()

Installing gst-plugins-good solves the problem. Might be a good candidate for optdepends?

I'm trying to use this package in mate desktop. It works except no sound. Running in terminal gives the following errors:

** (alarm-clock-applet:19532): WARNING **: AlarmApplet: Could not locate sounds!

** (alarm-clock-applet:19532): WARNING **: AlarmApplet: Could not locate sounds!

** (alarm-clock-applet:19532): CRITICAL **: Could not create player.

** (alarm-clock-applet:19532): CRITICAL **: Alarm(0x1a0ccf0) #0: alarm_error: #1: Could not create player! Please check your sound settings.

Maybe some dependencies are missing?

I've recently adopted this package and have rewritten some parts of the PKGBUILD. As I don't like making silent changes, I've bumped the release number to 2.

Why has this been recently changed to 0.3.3-2? The last revision I can see is 227 made on 2013-03-11

0.3.3 is out

@habtool: fixed this issue

habtool commented on 2011-03-17 11:29

There seems to be a issue with libnotiy:
The missing /usr/bin/libnotify.so.1 is the issue here

https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=115209

I will update here if I see a solution on the thread

It appears that a update to dependency has broken alarm-clock-applet.
I think it may be libnotify

If I run from a terminal:
$ alarm-clock-applet
alarm-clock-applet: error while loading shared libraries: libnotify.so.1: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory

If I try to reinstall alarm-clock-applet with yaourt/clyde I get this near the end:
alarm-applet.h:46:14: warning: array ‘supported_sound_mime_types’ assumed to have one element
CCLD alarm-clock-applet
ui.o: In function `alarm_applet_notification_show':
ui.c:(.text+0x51d): undefined reference to `notify_notification_new_with_status_icon'
collect2: ld returned 1 exit status
make[3]: *** [alarm-clock-applet] Error 1
