Good news, everyone! With the new allegro (4.4.2) from extra, snd-pcm-oss is no longer needed for sound to work!

Decided to include the readme.txt file, too. I've realized that, strictly speaking, only unix-port.patch and allegro-4.2.patch are _really_ needed. But the others patches are also nice to have (best practices, etc.), IMHO, so they stay.

By the way, if you find the game has no sound, and you're running testing (kernel 2.6.39, udev 170), make sure to include snd-pcm-oss in the MODULES array of rc.conf. If you don't want to reboot, just modprobe it. Many Allegro-based games seem to need this module for sound to work, actually...

Many thanks to the Fedora and Debian developers for the (many!) patches needed to make this compile in a modern Linux distro... I mean, the source code is from 2003, and it doesn't even come with a Makefile... Anyway, enjoy this oldschool Gameboy-style platformer!
