I would like to suggest using this method to build this package instead of a complex tgz file

Source download link and check sums are out of date with Aliview 1.28 being the current version.

desktop doesn't work, better to manually install all the binary and desktop files and so on instead of using the shell script.

You need to upload the same PKGBUILD as a new package
aliview-bin
and ask for a merge request (just click "Submit Request" on this page). Although I can make the merge request on your behalf, I can't upload the package with the new name for you.iosonofabio commented on 2021-05-15 23:23 (UTC)
Thanks for the comment. I don't have time to ask but please go ahead and I approve of the change.

This package should be named
aliview-bin
since it is using the provided binaries and not being built from source, as per Arch Linux's guidelines. Maybe you can ask a TU to rename it for you?Stunts commented on 2020-01-21 19:27 (UTC)
In fact I'd recommend changing
depends=('jre-openjdk') to
depends=(java-runtime
), which is provided by bothopenjdk
andjre
(both these runtimes can be used to runaliview

that does not work on my machine, but putting 'jre-openjdk' (which corresponds to version 13) works, so I updated the package
