@adelin-b Version number is fine at my side. Can you try to clone the AUR repo again and rebuild?

@Grafcube First, I want to thank you for submitting the first version of this PKGBUILD, as I'm no where near familiar with packaging and AUR at that time.

It's seems that if you simply disown this package, the leftover co-maintainer (me) will become the new owner.

I do not use Anki as often as when I first wrote this PKGBUILD before, as I've already passed the proficiency exam of the language I was learning with it, and started studying abroad then. So I didn't actually test every new versions besides whether it runs.

Nevertheless, it's important to continue studying through one's life, and many others might still benefit from this helpful learning tool. If anyone wish to co-maintain this package, which is usually only updating pkgver and checking upstream changes to requirements.{anki,aqt}.in, feel free to leave a comment here or contact my email!

Finally, I wish you all a great success in your study and personal career!

@escape0707 unfortunately I don't know enough to properly manage this package myself and you seemed to have it covered so I just left it to you. I didn't realize co-maintainers couldn't manage ownership. If you want me to, I can disown the package, which should make you the sole maintainer and give you permission to manage co-maintainers.

@Niwook I completely understand your kindness. And you don't need to thank me so extravagantly. Personally I've been a bit busy lately. It would be best if someone else is willing to maintain it together. However, although I initially wrote this script, I'm not its current owner. Another user submitted it on my behalf at that time. So I'm afraid I can't add anyone to co-maintainer list.

@escape0707 Many thanks for everything. I hope your passion returns. The maintenance of this package is very important for many people, more than you think. I am in debt with you and eternally grateful.

@BEST8OY @SwissCat Thank you for your reply. I think let's just add this dependency for now. And I'll find a chance to ask the upstream to make this dependency optional. But in the meantime, everyone needs to build and install this new dependency. But this is still less painful than Anki's original build process, I guess.

Edit: Filed a PR that ignores missing pip_system_certs and patched in AUR. Should be good for now.

@escape0707

Honestly, this package is the most hassle-free installation of Anki.

The main point is that it doesn't populate system with all the necessary packages to build Anki and is fast to install.

If you don't update this package, I'm still going to use your PKGBUILD to update my Anki installation in future.

I hope you continue to maintain this package.

@escape0707 I cannot give you back passion, that his something you will have to figure out on your own, and no matter what you chose to do its gonna be fine.

But I do believe this package still has value, at least for me. The official anki packages doesn't work at all for me, It gets stuck building the whole thing and if its not that it just crashes and spits out errors. I just hate it.

This is the only package that actually worked so far.

@BEST8OY That's right. And as that package is in AUR too, I started to doubt if there is still a reason to continue maintaining this package. Also, that package does not benefit Arch or Linux users, too. Correct me if I'm wrong here.

Someone might be able to request the upstream to patch that Pull Request to ignore the ImportError if the package is not installed on the system, but I kind of lost the passion for that...
