@jancici, the biggest difference between this package and the community package is that this one installs the pre-compiled binary. The community package builds from source. At this point however, both versions are out of date as of my post here.

Since this package provides the bin version, the title should be renamed as such as per the AUR Submission Guidelines:

Packages that use prebuilt deliverables, when the sources are available, must use the -bin suffix. An exception to this is with Java. The AUR should not contain the binary tarball created by makepkg, nor should it contain the filelist.

Hi! Can I contribute to this by updating apache netbeans to version 13?

Already build in my setup but would be good to available here too!

hey, could you perhaps consider installing a launch script to /usr/bin? Right now you only install the .desktop file to /usr/applications, which means the application won't show up when running i3 with dmenu/rofi.

I'd like to use this since the netbeans package in community is out of date, but this is the only thing stopping me from doing so.

@jancici I'd recommend comparing the community PKGBUILD to the AUR PKGBUILD.

I've always had a personal interest in this package, because as far as I can remember, and as you have noticed, it seems to be more up-to-date than the community variant.
