The fix was supposed to be "use latest source, and have users manually download a zip file to put it in their homedir". Except the zip file no longer exists at the download location. The way I'm reading the response to the bug, it seems that users are now expected to put apktool.jar in a subdirectory of their homedir, but when I did so, it still didn't work. apktool.jar is another tool that this program depends on to run. If that sounds to you like a job better suited to pacman dependency management, I agree, and that's why I plan on submitting a pull request to use tools on the PATH if possible.

read that github issue and I have no idea what they say the fix is

Thanks for the heads up mssun. The current build instructions and changelog suggest that vendor.zip isn't necessary anymore, but from what I can tell it still won't run without it. I've filed a bug upstream; you can track it here: https://github.com/vaibhavpandeyvpz/apkstudio/issues/32

``` -> Downloading vendor.zip... curl: (22) The requested URL returned error: 404 Not Found ==> ERROR: Failure while downloading vendor.zip Aborting... ``` I guess the url of vendor.zip is broken.
Thanks test0, I've now fixed this.
>unzip: cannot find or open external/vendor.zip, external/vendor.zip.zip or external/vendor.zip.ZIP. Please add https://bintray.com/artifact/download/vaibhavpandeyvpz/generic/2015.10.29/vendor.zip to download list.
Thanks for the heads up k2s; I've pushed an updated PKGBUILD that uses the new repo and updated build instructions. Thanks borja for providing a workaround in the meantime :) The latest version addresses the need to somehow install runtime dependencies in the user's homedir, which is the reason I held off on updating the package over the past 12 hours.
Hi! Please accept my apologies, but I'm not able to upload it to AUR due to wlritchi took over the package when AUR moved to GIT repos. Meanwhile you can grab the updated PKGBUILD from here: https://github.com/borjiviri/archlinux/blob/master/aur/apkstudio-git/PKGBUILD
installation doesn't work, because this project has moved to GitHub, see https://apkstudio.codeplex.com/
No issues here :-S It looks like the problem relies on QT5 paths. Check your QT5 installation to ensure everything is in place.
