No longer building. I have it installed on 1 machine but it wont even build on that one anymore. That machine is only a few weeks old so this must be a recent issue.

arcanis commented on 2014-09-21 13:46

wow, how long you didn't upgrade? We moved from qt4 to qt5 long time ago. And this app now requires qt4 not qt

fixed. Sorry for delay

funky.future commented on 2013-08-14 03:07

qtwebkit needs to be added as dependency. otherwise the build will fail.

ImNtReal commented on 2013-07-09 13:35

Because systemd uses cgroups to contain daemons, you can often get away with the default.

arcanis commented on 2013-07-09 13:26

Added systemd service file. Tnx to @ImNtReal

@ImNtReal
Hmm, without typing type of service? May be. I was trying to create service file with different type of service, but daemon didn't fork. But it works anyway =)

I think this is all you need for a systemd unit file: http://pastebin.com/uzTXu71C It's working for me, anyway.

@CPUnltd
I'm sorry, it is fixed. Trying

ImNtReal commented on 2013-07-09 13:00

I take that back, I had to specify /usr/lib/qt4/bin/lrelease in the PKGBUILD.

ImNtReal commented on 2013-07-09 12:57

I think you should add a makedepend of qtchooser, and use /usr/bin/lrelease instead of /usr/lib/qt/lrelease. It's not working for me, either.

so, fixed PKGBUILD. And I remove old files for rc.d-daemon. Although I wasn't able to create a new service file =(

piedro commented on 2013-05-28 16:53

I have qt 4.8.4 but still it's missing qt 4.7 ...

depends=('qt4>=4.7') should cover this, shouldn't it?

thx, p.

quantumphaze commented on 2013-05-27 11:32

This package also adds a daemon to the old rc.conf with its install script. This must be changed to work with systemd.

Also qt4.

I tired these as mentioned but get errors

It's quite annoying that it's asking for the password each time I want to do something. Maybe add kwallet support?

ChrisW commented on 2012-10-06 06:19

Add qtwebkit dependency, then it will build!

But it does not connect properly to the Pacman/Libalpm backend when on Xfce. No errors in The GUI, even though no actions are completed properly.

ingamedeo commented on 2012-09-06 13:05

qtwebkit dependence is missing!!

kicka commented on 2012-07-14 06:59

solved after installation of qtwebkit... maybe adding it on the dependencies?

kicka commented on 2012-07-14 06:02

It doesn't install under gnome-cinnamon lately... instead np under kde...

the error is:

Each package description contains only one word, second package description- second word and it goes like that. Please, help me.

When I tried installing libreoffice, it automaticly selects the first available language pack (african), instead of prompting the user which one to install. Also, when trying to deselect african, it removes other libreoffice stuff like libreoffice-base too.

Anonymous comment on 2012-01-23 23:45

@jwhipp
Both FT_Select_Size and FT_Library_SetLcdFilter should be defined in libfreetype.so.6 from the
freetype2 package. However freetype2 is a package required by fontconfig which is required by qt package.
So you already have them all. Maybe your libfontconfig.so.1 links against the wrong libfreetype.so.6 (e.g. an aur version in /usr/local/lib). So please post the output of:
ldd /usr/lib/libfontconfig.so.1

jwhipp commented on 2012-01-23 21:36

@simone6192

I reinstalled both qt and fontconfig, but I am getting the same error.

I should note I am using packer for my build and install attempt.

Anonymous comment on 2012-01-21 11:51

@jwhipp I don't think you are missing a dependency. It is a linker error for fontconfig and qt shared libs in your system. Try to update/reinstall fontconfig and qt.

When I try to install this with packer, I get the following build error:

Am I missing a dependency?

Anonymous comment on 2011-12-28 12:52

added 'qtwebkit' dependency. Thanks 'Zazzman'.

Zazzman commented on 2011-12-26 15:46

pleased add 'qtwebkit' to the list of dependencies, it would not compile until I installed this package.

Appset-qt refuses to minimize. If I press minimize button the main window appears again after approximately half a second. KDE 4.7.4, qt 4.7.4.

Oh, I see. Thank you for the clarification! :)
By the way, I know this is an alpha and I don't know if you'll consider adding it, but I think it would be nice if you could choose which package from the AUR to update, instead of updating them all at the same time. And also, where it says "Last version -not sure if this is the exact english translation-", in all of my AUR packages it says "NO INFO".

Anyway, thanks again.
Cheers!

Actally the daemon is used to automatically sync repositories at predefined regular intervals and to generate a cache to speedup packages loading in the main GUI.
Thanks

AnnS commented on 2011-12-07 19:05

Hi, first, this project looks great. :)
But I was wondering, why is it necessary to have the daemon in rc.conf or to even start it? I removed it, and I still can initiate AppSet and don't notice any difference.

Anonymous comment on 2011-11-22 16:27

Config files for archlinux are under /etc/appset/
I don`t provide any explicit support for yaourt.
However please use sourceforge pages for feature/bug reporting:

another question, howto add yaourt backend instead packer?

sl1pkn07 commented on 2011-11-21 15:53

qt= 4.7.4-3
pacman= 4.0.0 (testing) (now 4.0.1)

@sl1pkn07: no, it is not normal, of course. Can you add some additional info to reproduce?
Qt version? pacman version? x86_64 or i686?

@sl1pkn07: Well, so it seems that AppSet was not the only one experiencing problems with Qt 4.8. Good to know.

@sl1pkn07: I've removed the deprecated function call. Now you can use appset also with Qt 4.8.

Anonymous comment on 2011-10-30 16:09

@sl1pkn07: It seems that with Qt 4.8 they have deprecated a signature for a function used in appset (QQueue::swap).
Btw, I'll update to new Qt signature for qqueue with next release (0.7.1).
Maybe in the meantime you can downgrade to Qt 4.7?

Sorry for the incovenient...

Greetings

For anyone interested, I made a version of this package that has a theme that integrates better with gnome: https://aur.archlinux.org/packages.php?ID=52227

This is just a temporary fix, as I also posted a feature request for gnome integration: http://sourceforge.net/tracker/?func=detail&aid=3405276&group_id=376825&atid=1568696

Le_Limule commented on 2011-07-14 20:47

i must install xterm and sudo (and do a '# visudo'...). if not, i can't apply changes in appset.
i think it's important to indicate that.
urxvt, su and gksu aren't sufficient.

i will post on sourceforge too.

Ok, now I'm using the tracker on sourceforge for this discussion.

gobonja commented on 2011-06-13 13:39

I posted that.

A bug had already been created by someone else on the 8th of June.
https://sourceforge.net/tracker/?func=detail&aid=3313846&group_id=376825&atid=1568693

I've added a comment to it (as Ristridin, my sourceforge ID).

Well, I can't reproduce your AUR problem. It works fine on my installations. Maybe obvious but it needs a working internet connection and pressing enter/clicking the search button to start searching. A last thing, at least 3 characters for the search term. If that is not the problem let me know what terms you are using and if packer works good from CLI.
P.S. please use trackers on sourceforge, thanks.

gobonja commented on 2011-06-11 20:27

Same problem here.

Aerion commented on 2011-06-11 17:02

The AUR search doesn't seem to work.
Packer is installed, and clicking the 'List Installed' button lists all my AUR installed packages.

I checked the config files and everything seems to be correct.

macxcool commented on 2011-04-18 12:34

Its okay now. I did try more than once before submitting a comment ;-)
Thanks for the very interesting project. I look forward to seeing it finished although it works very well already.

Ok, "/download" removed. Thanks!

Anonymous comment on 2011-04-17 06:43

Removing "/download" from source url helped with md5sum error ;)

Anonymous comment on 2011-04-16 07:56

@macxcool: No, md5 sum for 0.4.1-1 (279ec69590b9d275cf9aaddbb407c888) is correct (Compare the PKGBUILD with the info here http://sourceforge.net/projects/appset/files/appset-qt/0.4/0.4.1/ ).
Perhaps the file you downloaded was corrupted and md5sum has only done its job...
You just have to retry to install 0.4.1-1... Bye

macxcool commented on 2011-04-15 19:13

md5sum fail for 0.4.1-1

macxcool commented on 2011-04-15 19:12

md5sum fail on build

I am excited about this application, this looks very promising!
I understand the logic for having the install script add the daemon to the rc.conf file, but I would discourage it in the long run. It looks like the daemon is used to actually do the installs and the frontend communicates with it. This also allows packages to be installed from the gui without root access.

I like the concept of allowing packages to be installed this way, but I would suggest looking into making this system more robust, have the gui give the option of running the daemon, or placing the daemon. And enable authentication in the daemon.

I understand that this is an alpha, and so please take this just as suggestions, I really like appset and where it is going! Thanks for your contribution!

Anonymous comment on 2011-01-11 07:35

That's because you need "appset-qt.install" and not only PKGBUILD.
If you don't know what I am talking about try to use an AUR helper (Check the archlinux wiki for yaourt or clyde etc.).
