@AlphaLynx: valid points you're making. Sounds like the best way forward :)

@TrialnError I created a new package to build the new upstream. As for the old -git package (archivemount-git), I think it should follow the formal process and use the old upstream repo. I don't see a point in a new -git package (archivemount-ng-git), because it looks like upstream's trunk does not have any newer commits than the tagged releases.

In light of the sad circumstances which halted the further development, there seems to be a new upstream.
Maybe it should be considered to switch to the new archivemount-ng repo?

I'm currently not sure if I should switch the -git package therefore I wanted your opinion on the topic. Formally it should be added to the aur as -ng, but as the development of the original probably won't be going further..

Edit: Oh and autoconf and automake are part of base-devel. Which is a requirement for using the aur and shouldn't be added to a PKGBUILD according to the guidelines.

It requires autoconf, please add it as dependencies.

Silly reason to give up on this very useful package. A lot of free software is in various states of abandon. Updated to 0.9.1.

Actually, the Upstream URL, should be, https://github.com/cybernoid/archivemount/

But I wouldnt bother much more with this tool, because it seems to be abandonware. Last update was 3 years ago, https://github.com/cybernoid/archivemount/blob/master/CHANGELOG . That for a tool that can mess with mounts and fuse is not a good sign.

I'm pretty sure that all that needs to be changed for this to work again is for the line pkgver=0.8.7 to be changed to pkgver=0.8.12
