Uh, forget what I said. You are right. I shouldn't do this stuff while I'm dead tired. I'll fix it.

I built all the required packages in my local repo, but now a
pacman -Syu
wants to replacearm-linux-gnueabihf-glibc
witharm-linux-gnueabihf-glibc-headers
, because that's what you said should happen. That's wrong.wgottwalt commented on 2023-08-05 18:30 (UTC)
glibc-headers is a bootstrap package like gcc-stage1 and gcc-stage2. I use the replace just for convenience to spare me the manual removal of the full glibc package during a toolchain rebuild. If you building this package after gcc-stage2, you are doing something wrong: binutils->gcc-stage1->glibc-headers/linux-api-headers->gcc-stage2->glibc->gcc

Why is this marked as
replaces=(arm-linux-gnueabihf-glibc)
? That makes no sense, doesn't-glibc
provide strictly more than this package? Why does this package exist in the first place?Ketchup901 commented on 2023-02-16 15:29 (UTC)
If you're getting an error like
Cannot open jobserver: No such file or directory. Stop.
, try adding--jobserver-style=pipe
to themake
commands as done in this other package: https://aur.archlinux.org/cgit/aur.git/commit/?h=armv7l-glibc&id=175c84a4790a31f4f2feb81ea8922d1c9df17728Singularity commented on 2023-01-25 11:41 (UTC)
Building this package fails for me. I don't see what the error is.

This package can't be built with
lto
in theoptions
. Putting!lto
in the PKGBUILD would be a good idea.EDIT: At least when building with stage 1 gcc.

Can't compile. libctf.so.0 is missing. There is a bug open here https://bugs.archlinux.org/task/69567

Needs python in makedepends (same goes for arm-linux-gnueabihf-glibc).

Anyone else getting this error?
