@beliy the development of asbru, continues in version 6, and several bugs of version 5 are already corrected in this ... asbru-cm 6 works very well. I think there are no reasons to use version 5, even if I'm not bad, they will no longer keep version 5. which is now called "legacy-v5". also that vte2 has problems and the gtk2 libraries are already old ..

@beliy true, but this package is -git, so we don't tecnically follow stable releases. Maybe it's time to make another package with the stable release.

If anyone is interested, try gtk3 development branch and help upstream:

I need volunteers to try a new implementation in xfreerdp method, see this bug: https://github.com/asbru-cm/asbru-cm/issues/158

Anybody interested?

@daviding yeah, any AUR helper can build asbru. The perl packages in AUR sometimes need to be rebuild manually, because maintainers don't bump release.

Hope you enjoy the project.

@figue, thanks for your additional instructions of 2019-06-13 "to upgrade to Perl 5.30", so that Asbru works as my Pacmanager replacement.

I did not have Trizen installed, and found it on Pamac.

After a series of questions on editing PKGBUILD files (I just pressed enter to take the defaults) and entering my sudo password multiple times, Asbru seems to work very much like the Pacmanger I've known for years.

In case others want to play along, here's the current state of my Manjaro KDE installation:

$ lsb_release -rd

Description: Manjaro Linux Release: 18.0.4

$ plasmashell --version

plasmashell 5.16.2

$ kf5-config --version

Qt: 5.13.0 KDE Frameworks: 5.59.0 kf5-config: 1.0

For instance, in one of my machines, to upgrade to Perl 5.30, I had to:

$ sudo pacman -Rdd glade-perl perl-gtk2-unique

$ sudo pacman -Syu

$ trizen -S --asdeps glade-perl perl-gtk2-unique

$ pacman -Qqo '/usr/lib/perl5/5.28'
perl-crypt-rijndael
perl-expect
perl-gnome2-gconf
perl-gnome2-vte
perl-gtk2-ex-simple-list
perl-net-arp
uuid

$ trizen -S --asdeps perl-crypt-rijndael perl-expect perl-gnome2-gconf perl-gnome2-vte perl-gtk2-ex-simple-list perl-net-arp uuid
