I modified PKGBUILD according to the last comments (12.4.0-2).

CAVT commented on 2015-10-13 02:51

Indeed, changing 'mumps>=4.10.0-7' by 'mumps4' in the pkgbuild solved the problem. I didn't test Aster yet, but it compiled and installed flawlessly. Thanks for the hint!

mickele commented on 2015-10-12 04:54

I use mumps4. Probably use of version 4 of mumps is mandatory.
Try removing mumps, installing mumps4 (https://aur.archlinux.org/packages/mumps4/) and modifying PKGBUILD accordingly.
If this solves your issue I'll modify the PKGBUILD of aster.

Hi. I'm getting this error:

[7648/7703] fcprogram: build/release/bibc/hdf/hdfcld.c.1.o build/release/bibc/hdf/hdfclf.c.1.o build/release/bibc/hdf/hdfclg.c.1.o build/rel... -> build/release/bibc/aster12.
/usr/lib/gcc/x86_64-unknown-linux-gnu/5.2.0/../../../../lib/libdmumps.so: undefined reference to `metis_setdefaultoptions_'

It doesn't look like an Aster error, but rather a Metis or Mumps error. I have metis4 4.0.3-2, scotch 6.0.4-1 and mumps 5.0.0-1, all from the respective AUR pkgbuilds, compiled and installed through Yaourt. ASTK compiled perfectly, so maybe I have the wrong package of any of the mentioned libraries. Which libraries are you using for the build, Mickele?

mickele commented on 2014-12-25 16:41

@CAVT
Try 11.6.0-2.

mickele commented on 2014-12-14 20:30

@CAVT
I am investigating on your observation. Probably difference is caused by missing test-case.
Give me some more time ;-)

Maybe this is perfecty normal, but duirng the instal the typical message says the updated package is 640MB smaller than before, i.e. the new installed size is 89MB whereas the old installed size was about 730MB. I tink I am missing something, maybe some stuff was splitted in other packages? So far I have both the Aster, Eficas and ASTK packages installed.

I created
- aster-hg at https://aur.archlinux.org/packages/aster-hg/
- astk-hg at https://aur.archlinux.org/packages/astk-hg/
Everyone is invited to contribute testing the package.
Report here suggestions and bug.

an aster-hg package sounds good to me. I am not sure if I'm the best tester, as aster is new to me and I'm fighting with french, but I will try for sure. Coming from Abaqus and Ansys, so there is some experience with FE....

mickele commented on 2014-05-19 10:50

I created an hg version, but I'm looking for tester.
If you can help me, I can send via mail my PKGBUILDS or I can create astk-hg and aster-hg packages on AUR.
If we create a working PKGBUILD for hg version it is straightforward to create a PKGBUILD for stable version.

Any news on this package? Would be great to use code aster on arch....

mickele commented on 2013-12-15 19:14

Code-aster 11.4 uses waf to build.
I'm afraid update to 11.4 won't be so easy.

Cose-aster 11.4 uses waf to build.
I'm afraid the update to 11.4 won't be so easy.

mickele commented on 2013-12-04 21:30

This is a first partial update. I hope in the next month to have enough time to update to 11.4.0.

mickele commented on 2013-12-02 08:30

Problem is only for AUR, just because
mumps (https://aur.archlinux.org/packages/mumps/) needs
parmetis (https://aur.archlinux.org/packages/parmetis/) that needs
metis (https://aur.archlinux.org/packages/metis/).
However I solved that issue creating a different version of metis4 compatible with metis. Maintainer of metis4 acceppeted my suggestion and it is already available on AUR at https://aur.archlinux.org/packages/metis4/.
I've almost finished my packaging, I am checking that everything works fine and I'll soon release version 11.3. If you want I can send you via mail the new PKGBUILDs.
Update to 11.4 shouldn't take much time, because I changed the structure of the various PKGUILDs to simplify updates.

CAVT commented on 2013-12-01 21:13

Michele: I'm checking the Aster 11.4 Full SRC file from Aster's website (identical so far with v12), and the prerequisites sources have the latest Mumps 4.10.0-1 and Metis 4.0.3. This seems to indicate that Metis 5 is not needed. I have not tried building it though.

mickele commented on 2013-11-25 22:02

I am having problems with metis:
- code-aster requires metis4
- code-aster with mpi requires mumps
- mumps requires metis5
- metis4 isn't compatible with metis5
so I'm trying to modify metis4 to make it compatible with metis5.

CAVT commented on 2013-11-18 04:01

Michele, how's the progress with the new PKGBUILD? Do you need help or do you have a preliminar version for Aster 11.x or 12.x? I have some experience modifying MED package and made one for Code_Saturne, but C_A seems to have a different installation method.

mickele commented on 2013-11-03 08:08

I am working on the update, I'll soon release an update.

blixawillbargeld commented on 2013-11-01 14:08

Hello,

will this package get an update anytime? Would be great!
Thanks
Stefan

Hi!
Have you thought of updating this package to the latest version? I have been having troubles compiling aster (I have tried the intel compilers also). I would gladly help :) (I've been using Arch only for 3 days now, so I don't know much about making the PKGBUILD)

Cheers

Here's another update to solve some issues signaled via mail by Alexvader (10.1.0-3).
After upgrade, and before launching astk or astk-ssh, remove .astkrc dir in your home.

mickele commented on 2010-05-16 10:05

@ Alexvader
I need more info:
- your system build;
- complete error message (if you want you can send me via mail all the building messages)
- in what phase it complains about missing STA10.1

Hi Mickele :)

Kudos for your work... :) I used to run the last version of Aster in my Arch box...

This version appears to have a small prob...

After having built and installed all required dependencies, when I run the PKGBUILD of Aster it aborts reporting there is no STA10.1 directory...

What is the issue with this... ?

I'm not vey much of a bash expert to correct it myself... :(

Once again, thanks for having this Package in AUR... :)

BRGDS

Alex

At last I updated code-aster to the last version available.
Maintenance of this package requires a lot of time!
