indeed, on Astrill download page[1] the last option (Linux 64bit CLI install) worked without a problem. thank you for the heads up.

FYI, the Astrill app has had five releases so far in 2018. The shell script available on the official astrill.com is working fine for installs. Also, a comment below suggests using a PKGBUILD script that references a source URL that is not referenced anywhere else by the company.

I mean no disrespect to the maintainer. Astrill didn't push out releases at all in 2017 and for the latter half of the year before that, so this is a big change.

first, you should have installed openssl-1.0. then I add a file in dir /etc/ld.so.conf.d called openssl-1.0.conf, and write /usr/lib/openssl-1.0 It works

yair commented on 2017-08-10 11:21 (UTC)

can you share method of how to add openssl-1.0 to ld.conf ? followed this https://codeyarns.com/2014/01/14/how-to-add-library-directory-to-ldconfig-cache/ added "include /usr/lib/openssl-1.0" to /etc/ld.so.conf

hantian_pang commented on 2017-08-08 09:05 (UTC)

I add the path to openssl-1.0 library to ld.so.conf,astrill cant use openssl1.1

yair commented on 2017-08-08 08:56 (UTC)

same here, after installing via .sh i get "unable to find ssl library"

Hi, please use this PKGBUILD script for version 3.2 -------------------------------------------------------- pkgname=astrill pkgver=3.2.0.2068 pkgrel=0 pkgdesc="VPN configuration tool for Astrill's servers" arch=('x86_64' 'i686') url="http://astrill.com/" license=('custom') depends=() if [ "${CARCH}" = 'x86_64' ]; then rpmpkg='astrill-setup-linux64.rpm' md5sums=('36de2cb96a5dff21d60f877eb0a92ce6') else rpmpkg='astrill-setup-linux.rpm' md5sums=('0e095d75f927b9c818f96a3a6be1b5fc') fi source=("https://www.astrilldownloads.com/$rpmpkg") package() { mv "${srcdir}/usr" "${pkgdir}" } -------------------------------------------------------- Don't forget to run sudo /usr/local/Astrill/astrill after installation!

We officially don't support archlinux, but if there's enough requests, we will add support. Has anyone tried to run .sh installer instead of using RPM ? It will install files and set proper permissions. If you just copy over/unpack files, you'll end up with "ASProxy component has insufficient privilege ..." Please note that you cannot fix error #901 on your own nor our support can help with this error. You are modifying Astrill binaries somehow, probably they get stripped, and we will refuse to run application, due to security reasons.

For the people with the error#901 try restarting after install and reset the configurations in the astrill GUI. Worked for me. Also run astrill as root once on fresh install. I am not sure how many people are facing issues with astrill. But mine is that udp seems to not work properly and tcp does in astrill. It seems to work fine on my laptop but not desktop for some reason. I am in contact with Astrill support but their tech support aren't too technical. I'll post back if I figure it out.
