I added a comment with a slew of PKGBUILD changes to the page for astroid; a few of them also apply here.

Nice, added you.

Sure, I don't mind co-maintaining it.

gauteh commented on 2019-11-21 18:18 (UTC)

Alright. Sounds reasonable. Do you wish to maintain/co-maintain package?

Alad commented on 2019-11-21 17:12 (UTC)

Any package should build with default makepkg options. By default, makepkg runs the test function.

Provides is NOT a superset of conflicts - it means that any package checking for "astroid" as dependency presumes this package is equivalent.

Conflicts means that two packages have the same files and should not be co-installable. Currently trying to install astroid, while having astroid-git, results in "file exists in filesystem" errors for pacman.

gauteh commented on 2019-11-21 15:58 (UTC)

Builds, but not tests. Should not have conflicts. Has provides.

Alad commented on 2019-11-01 18:00 (UTC)

Please add conflicts=('astroid') as well. Also this doesn't pass the tests without the patch included in the astroid package.

@polyzen: seems I forgot to push that one :) should be fixed now.

The md5sum for astroid.1.gz is incorrect?
