codeworkx, as a person who maintains several packages yourself I'm rather terrified that you don't understand the basic rules of makepkg.
Namely, it is absolutely forbidden to run makepkg without the base-devel group installed, and it is therefore incorrect to ever have base-devel packages as a makedepends. This is documented from the very beginning on the wiki page for the AUR, which is linked from the homepage of the AUR.
Moreover as fakeroot is not required by this package, but is required simply in order to run makepkg itself, this suggestion is utterly inappropriate.
Don't do this again.

binutils and fakeroot are missing in make deps.

I've had some problems building this package; makepkg fails to fetch the git source in the PKGBUILD. I "solved" the problem by changing the url to just "https://github.com/polygamma/aurman.git".
I'm probably doing something wrong on my end but I thought I'd let you know.
