The snap package for barrier is at versions 2.4.* Is there a version of barrier on the aur that is up to date with the upstream releases? https://github.com/debauchee/barrier/releases

Upstream developer added it in https://github.com/debauchee/barrier/pull/1345. Apparently it's a library for filesystem operations.

@yan12125: what's gulrak-filesystem and why we need it?

Some more changes are needed to build recent versions of barrier-git. Here is a working PKGBUILD: https://fars.ee/sLHG

Hi, could you add git to makedepends (allowing build in clean chroots) and provides/conflicts=(barrier)? Similar improvements are also applicable to barrier-headless-git.

Yeah now it's working, but it definitely wasn't before, others got the same error.

But now it does work.

tallero commented on 2020-10-18 03:24

@gardot426: Everything is fine on my part.

gardotd426 commented on 2020-10-15 23:43

What's really weird is when I just download the repo, run mkdir build && cd build/ && cmake .. && make the normal old way, it builds, and then I get a bin directory with barrier in it, and when I run it it works. So my question is why the PKGBUILD does it differently?

This is for sure still an error.

CMake Generate step failed. Build files cannot be regenerated correctly.

@tailero it seems nothing has changed.

@tallero I still run into the same issue reported by others. I have git versions of cmake and googletest built from AUR.
