@regagain: You're right that upstream is abandoned, and to be honest, this PKGBUILD is, too. I've not been using the plugin in a long time: I still would like to have its functionality, but its design has some fundamental issues in my opinion.

I had a very brief look at adammillerio's fork: For now, there are no actual changes aside from package metadata updates and changes to the CI configuration. The code still has some bugs regarding pathnames (see the incorrect usage of beets.util.displayable_path). I'd not call this "Python3-compatible".

Given the above, I'll not switch to that fork, but rather disown the package.

According to upstream (, the project is abandoned, but there's a Python3-compatible fork at

Turns out that the plugin is not compatible with Python 3 and will crash import sessions. I'll attempt a fix and report upstream. EDIT: Fixed the particular crash I encountered. Full Python 3 compatibility is not certain, though.

The license file was indeed renamed upstream, this should be fixed now. I also switched to Python 3, since the beets package did so recently, too.

Fails to build (may be an issue with upstream): running install_scripts install: cannot stat 'MIT-LICENSE.txt': No such file or directory Can be fixed by commenting out the line to install MIT-LICENSE.txt
