Hello alamahant, thank you for your post (and the software). I've updated the note to make it conditional (rather than a requirement) and also added PulseAudio as an optional dependency. Still, I can vouch for the fact that pure ALSA setup doesn't work (with or without PipeWire - no sound device found in either case). Without PulseAudio, I have to use the apulse emulation in order to get sound working.

Hi PiterDeVries, thanks for maintaining. Upstream dev here — BinauralPlayer works with PipeWire & ALSA, not just PulseAudio. Please update the note. Thanks!

Please note: the program requires PulseAudio sound output. I didn't specify this as a dependency, since people can simply use a PulseAudio emulation (such as apulse) without ever running PulseAudio server (I myself am using such a setup).
