OK, let's rehearse the data:

I use Arch, not Manjaro.

I use sudo bdscan --update for updating BitDefender. Works OK.

sudo bdgui works OK, but when I press Scan, it just dies (with no error message whatsoever).

So, I only use command line scanning, with logging. After the scan is finished I use grep nfected * and grep uspect * for analyzing the log file.

About segmentation fault:

I run Arch, not Manjaro and did not have this problem.

AFAIK it is a GUI problem, run sudo bdscan --update and then use scanning from the command line (you will have to read the help screen in order to understand the options).

How have you solved the bug that cause "Segmentation fault (core dumped)" error? Because when I try to use it will immediately crash. And can you add the patch in PKGBUILD? Thank you!

As I said, I am not an advanced Linux user, I did the best I could.

You could propose a patch/diff and I will approve it if it works.

First off thanks you for reinstating this package , the community is grateful for you input and time doing it for the community

Please retry packaging with deb or repackage with rpm ( rewrite pkgbuild )

Current install is a bit messy, it leaves two folders in /opt

bitdefender-scanner and bitdefender , I had a look at it , but its a mine field the PKGBUILD needs to be rewritten its all over the place with the install paths

It download's the virus def's into the folder bitdefender and leaves the folder bitdefender-scanner as the main install

Maybe try to use *.deb instead: http://download.bitdefender.com/repos/deb/pool/non-free/b/

The older Aur Package only had one install folder, I'll have a look and see, can I see why the second folder is being created after update

I am not a Linux expert. I merely noticed a package which was no longer working and I fixed it. I don't have very advanced knowledge of Linux.

I think the extra BifDefender folder is created after you do bdscan --update

First off Thanks for Reinstating this package on the AUR

The install seems to create two folders in /opt

Bitdefender & Bitdefender-scanner

Can you clean up the install and just having one folder in /opt call bitdefender.
