Yeah, this is the only one that works completely for me (at least with the GUI, as I've never used the CLI), since
spotify-adkiller-git
does not mute skip-able ads.The only bug I've found is that sometimes it thinks songs are ads and mutes them, but that happens rarely, and pausing/playing the song through the blockify GUI fixes it.

1) Project nearly-abandoned 2) No HiDPI support since it doesn't pass calling arguments to spotify ("--force-device-scale-factor=1.75") 3) Takes too much time to open

@gsrafael01 I use it in KDE, it always worked for me correctly.

Does this package only work for me? I see people all the time talking about how it no longer works, but it has always worked completely fine for me, especially the UI. I wonder if the desktop environment has something to do with it? I use XFCE.

Don't recall, but the UI definitely didn't work. I can assure you
spotify-adkiller-git
works. ^^ If an ad isn't muted, toggle playback, perhaps more than once, until it does mute.clasick commented on 2018-11-20 20:08
Does this package still work? I still gets ads on the latest
spotify
package from the AUR.cjmick commented on 2017-10-18 05:31
Ok I installed the optional dependencies sudo pacman -S git python-pip gst-python pulseaudio alsa-utils pygtk python-dbus python-gobject python-docopt wmctrl
and I was able to get Blockify muting the spotify ads. Now when I pause spotify to view a youtube video, I now get no audio. The same with Facebook.

Just installed spotify and blockify, noticed blockify doesn't stop/mute the ads. Is there a fix for this?
jtojnar commented on 2017-05-27 15:49
@polyzen the readme is outdated. pygtk only provides GTK 2 support which is not used by blockify.
polyzen commented on 2017-05-06 07:14
jtoljnar, python-gobject is a dep of gst-python, and the readme mentions pygtk as a dependency.
