@ant0n et all, lets keep the comments here about packaging issues, general Brave usage issues should go in another forum to not clutter up this comment space. I'm deleting comments that have no relation to packaging. Grey areas like crashes that could be blamed on Arch can stay until proven otherwise, but things like how to configure Brave to handle popups or site X or whatever just don't belong here. Thanks for understanding.

I've got a really strange bug that i can't find any reports for on the brave github. ever since running Elder Scrolls Onine Through gamescope, the 't' key seems to be disabled in brave. not the capital though, and a long press seems to work, but just quickly tapping the key doesn't work. the brave search bar works (not the search engine one) but it's actually broken on websites. so it's technically not broken in the browser, but only in the webpage area. (edit: been happening for about 2 months)

You can see the changes here: https://aur.archlinux.org/cgit/aur.git/log/?h=brave-bin

Only the version and hashes are being updated

The last two updates has had Brave disappear from Gnome's menu. When pressing the Windows key and typing "brave" nothing shows up. Everything seems in order with the desktop files and it can be started from both the desktop file and command line. Has anything changed in the package?

@Cthulu201 Not sure about using symlinks inside the fakeroot when building, for the rest looks ok I think.

Would you mind critiquing my PKGBUILD? I've tested mine against yours and don't notice any differences with the smaller PKGBUILD. Thanks.

Noticing a strange bug with brave-bin 1:1.60.110-1, if you enable vertical tabs and "Show title bar" the minimize, maximize and close button don't render properly and are a bit part of menu below.

Then I suggest manually changing the version this time and adding a check that verifies that the new version is greater than the previous one for the future.

I have updated it manually and will re enable the server once it's fixed on their side

@tocic Is actually an error on the brave side, the URL that returns the latest version is pointing to 1.58.117

https://versions.brave.com/latest/release-linux-x64.version

tocic commented on 2023-10-12 06:10 (UTC)

Seems like your script changed the version to v1.58.117 instead of v1.59.117.
