This release of Brogue is being maintained by the community (see upstream). It contains bug fixes for the game, and improvements to the overall build process, but is otherwise considered to be the "intended" experience from the developer.
This package also has a few niceties over the standard release on the AUR, including local storage of save files, and a functional .desktop file.
