I no longer have access to this printer should anyone wish to adopt this package.

Making a symlink and restarting the CUPS systemd service fixes it:

sudo ln -s /opt/brother/Printers/hll8360cdw/cupswrapper/brother_lpdwrapper_hll8360cdw /usr/lib/cups/filter/brother_lpdwrapper_hll8360cdw
sudo systemctl restart cups

It appears that CUPS is searching for the filter in the wrong location. When trying to print, the following message appears in /var/log/cups/error_log:

E [12/Mar/2021:13:51:55 +0100] Brother_HL-L8360CDW_series: File \"/usr/lib/cups/filter/brother_lpdwrapper_hll8360cdw\" not available: No such file or directory
E [12/Mar/2021:13:51:55 +0100] [Job 20] Unable to start filter "brother_lpdwrapper_hll8360cdw" - No such file or directory.
E [12/Mar/2021:13:51:55 +0100] [Job 20] Stopping job because the scheduler could not execute a filter.

Whereas this package installs this filter under /opt/brother/Printers/hll8360cdw/cupswrapper/brother_lpdwrapper_hll8360cdw. I'm not too familiar with CUPS, so I'm unsure where the wrong path is chosen. Any ideas how this might be fixed?

First, thanks for maintaining this...saved me from having to extract the deb. A bit late, but I found following Brother's steps never worked (add printer as lpd or socket with lpd://(Your printer's IP address)/binary_p1). Same for auto-detected ipp/dnssd. However, picking IPP, then device found my lppinfo -v with /ipp/port1 appended and "IPP Everywhere" device (vs directly chosing ppd) got network printing going w/ full color. HTH.

Is there any howto manual to get the network printer work? I added my printer in cups and selected the /opt/brother/Printers/hll8360cdw/cupswrapper/brother_hll8360cdw_printer_en.ppd file over the dnssd://Brother%20HL-L8360CDW%20series._ipp._tcp.local/?uuid=e... connection, but it doesn't seem to be connected.

The .deb listed in this is outdated and now returns a 404

The correct URL should be: https://download.brother.com/welcome/dlf103246/hll8360cdwcupswrapper-1.4.0-0.i386.deb
