Hidi:
This was upstream (Apple) issue 5639.
As a workaround it wasn't necessary to delete the rows in question as a whole. Rather, only the no longer accepted option keyword "Custom" had to be replaced, like *Foo CustomBar/Bar instead of *Foo Custom/Bar.
Anyway this was fixed in CUPS 2.3.1 and shouldn't be a problem any more.

pavbaranov:
This could very well have been caused by a permission issue that was fixed in package release 1.0.2-3.
In case you're still using this device under Arch Linux you may give that version a shot.

Unfortunatelly even with modified PPD as described by Hidi - my DCP-115C cannot print any documents anymore. At least I can add printer at all.

FYI: In the current version of CUPS [2.3.0] adding my printer [DCP-115C] failed with this PPD file. Error messages: "Unable to copy ppd file" resp. "Illegal option keyword string" (german: Ungültige Option-Schlüsselwort-Zeichenkette in Zeile 226 nicht möglich)

Deleting row 226 (*BRDocument Custom/Custom: "") from the PPD-file seems to solve the issue without downside

Dependency check throws error at me saying a2ps is missing, but this isn't listed in the dependencies on this page?
