I had to install brother-mfc8710dw-lpr-bin in addition to this package in order to print. Without the lpr package installed, I was getting errors about filters:

Job stopped due to filter errors; please consult the /var/log/cups/error_log file for details.

Hope this helps someone else struggling with the same issue I had!
