Here is an updated PKGBUILD for 0.6: https://gist.github.com/thrasibule/b8fbdcfaa594fcb56be48915292cf537 It would be nice if current maintainers update it, or add me as a co-maintainer. The current version is pretty old.

to build brotli 0.5.2, patch it first:

Could you update it to 0.5.2 please?

I tested the Compiling with 0.5.2, it's not working.
We need a new Buildscript for that.
I cant find a INSTALL or README tho.

Thanks

Pushed to latest version.

It looks like you left out an important tool -- the commandline compressor called 'bro' (similar to gzip).

It's in the tools/ directory, has its own Makefile, and doesn't require any libraries (besides standard POSIX stuff).

I think it would make sense to call that package 'brotli', and have the python modules contain only the python stuff.
