You meant to use $CARCH (current architecture string, defined in your makepkg.conf) instead of $arch (the array of all supported architectures, defined in the PKGBUILD)

Couple other tips since you mentioned it's your first PKGBUILD:

Regarding the last point, I was referring to this: https://wiki.archlinux.org/title/PKGBUILD#source

Either way I've now updated the PKGBUILD.

I made the changes with exception of the last request, as I didn't understand what I was supposed to change. I added you as a co-maintainer. This is the first AUR package I maintain.

@bluetail can you fix the package to install the man pages? (see the git history where I did exactly that)

Also the cd $srcdir line should just be removed, all functions start in $srcdir

The license is also wrong, the correct format is GPL2

Also as per packaging standards, sources need to be unique in $SRCDEST, if you just rename it to btdu it will have the wrong checksum on future versions. Also btdu specifically would probably conflict in the future if a -git package is created. I suggest using the value that was in my PKGBUILD.
