If it works with gnome online accounts it will work with bubblemail. Otherwise maybe it's the time to switch to a provider that respects privacy

I completely cleaned up my .local/lib/python3.8 and it somehow now works :-)

I get a crash when installing

munmap_chunk(): invalid pointer

Seems similar to that issue but I'm on Python 3.8.6

Is your capital problem related to the name of the account you have created or the "from" email address shown in the notifications / gnome shell indicator ? Reading your log, I can point out that your account names are email addresses, I probably misunderstood your issue.

Thanks for the update. It works great now. About the git repository host, I keep track of all my accounts and want to reduce the amount to a minimum. I just created a new IMAP account and took a look at the log with debug information. There was nothing useful.

Maybe, you can derive useful information from it. I think you did not understand the suggestion properly. Just the email adresses' first letter is capitalized in the GUI where all added accounts are listed. I checked the config file and there everything is fine.

Email addresses are not capitalized in any case, I took time to check that. I suppose this comes from the content of your mail. I can understand that you cannot affort to spend 2 minutes creating an account on framagit, I'm ok with that, but I fear it is the only way to go for solving issues. I'm curious about the context behind your problem and I need some kind of info like logs and message source. Please open a bug with it if you can.
