This is now CLI only. Please install bukuserver for the full-fat package.

Just found, that the provided Arch package from upstream is already split. I downloaded and installed it, and it's dependencies are only "python python-beautifulsoup4 python-certifi python-cryptography python-urllib3" (from "pacman -Qi buku"). A bukuserver file (even not runnable) is not part of this package.

Thoughts on bohlstry's comments from anyone else?

My inclination is to leave it be for now since they are working on splitting the two up: https://github.com/jarun/Buku/issues/343

bukuserver is usable in its current state.

The flip-side is that it is a lot of dependencies for a feature not everyone might want.

Wouldn't it be a good idea to split the package into "buku" as command line utility, and "bukuserver" with all the flask dependencies not required by the base package. The base package should not install the "bukuserver" program, which was present in the past, but not usable (as already noted by m040601).

@benoliver999 thanks for your prompt attention to this issue

yep, buku seems to be running now with all it functionality. There's a ton of "flask" related stuff both as a package as on the AUR. But so far, haven't seen any conflict with python stuff installed by this package, and other packages.

Wound up just added Flask-API to the AUR. Let me know if it's a dupe, but I couldn't find it anywhere.

bukuserver should work now.

Agh sorry, didn't see your comments, just the out of date flag.

I'm getting there but can't find Flask-API anywhere in the AUR or repos. Any advice?

I think you're still missing the required python dependencies for the command 'bukuserver' which is an integral part of buku (it is not some "extra" thing! ).

When the PKGBUILD, pulls from https://codeload.github.com/jarun/Buku/tar.gz/v$pkgver to build the package, there are dependencies listed on, https://github.com/jarun/Buku/blob/master/requirements.txt.

You are indeed including them in the PKGBUILD: depends=('python' 'python-beautifulsoup4' 'python-cryptography' 'python-urllib3' 'python-certifi' 'python-html5lib'

But you continue missing the dependencies (flask admin etc) listed on, https://github.com/jarun/Buku/blob/master/bukuserver/requirements.txt

The result is that as this package is built, it does install the command 'bukuserver' but without its needed dependecies.
