the package is still installed with wrong rights. I need to execute to install dependent packages such as linuxcnc sudo chmod -R o+rX /usr/lib/tcl8.6/bwidget-1.9.16

I'm having the same problem with permissions. But it is only the bwidget-1.9.15 folder within /usr/lib/tcl8.6 that has incorrect permissions (see ls output below).

To fix, run: sudo chmod -R o+rX /usr/lib/tcl8.6/bwidget-1.9.15

ls -l /usr/lib/tcl8.6

I had to change file permission in PKGBUILD

chmod -R 755 "${pkgdir}"/usr/lib/tcl8.6/*

otherwise package was inaccessible from user space since all files had user and group set to root and -rwxr-x--- permissions.

@bartus: I see, so the problem is yay who keep downloaded files in cache even if I corrected sha256sums in PKGBUILD after jsbach message.

And that's why I didn't have any problem installing it with trizen and pikaur . I don't use yay, I found some strange behaviour when trying it.

@Geballin: There's no problem it's just an update on the sourceforge site. If you take a look at download page, it's stated:

Last Updated
2019-12-15

I still got both files in AUR cache.

@ Geballin: How can I help to troubleshoot and find the validation problem? I tried to build via git clone and makepkg, also tried with AUR helper yay and ran into same problems as ve7it and jsbach, but was able to build in clean chroot however, isn't that expected of the --nocheck arg? (e.g. makechrootpkg -c -r $CHROOT -- --nocheck). Thank you for your consideration and maintaining this package :)

Geballin commented on 2019-12-27 01:55 (UTC)

I just tested to make and install it with trizen (which is my favorite AUR helper) and pikaur, everything worked, no problem for sha256sums with both. So if you encounter validating problem (why ?), try one of the two (trizen or pikaur).

WFV commented on 2019-12-23 23:23 (UTC)

Fails to build as others mention (via yay) however, I'm able to build in clean chroot with --nocheck arg, maybe not preferred but is only for personal single use here.

I am getting the error as well. I downloaded the .tar.gz directly from sf as well as using the link in the PKGBUILD. Both files have the same and valid sha256sum (compared to the PKGBUILD sum). Not sure what to think... a pamac issue? There was a new version recently and I think this is the first AUR update I have seen go by.
