Just in case anyone is having an issue installing this. The downloads are not missing, Canon just doesn't seem to support HTTP anymore. Edit the build file and change the two Canon driver downloads to HTTPS and it should download and build just fine. Just did that here.

Extracting the .deb files with bsdtar would be much more efficient than using deb2targz. You would then have the data.tar.* file that was inside the .deb to extract.
