Builds fine here. QUIET is not the build error. The error is above that.

Build fails with:

==> ERROR: A failure occurred in package().

/usr/share/makepkg/util/message.sh: line 51: QUIET: unbound variable

Amazing package but it has a minor issue, not sure if I am not configuring properly but the scangearmp2 package has no sane backend. This is in my case an issue since I am on wayland and it does not work. If I install scangearmp2-sane-git I have a working scanner but since it conflicts with this I have no printer then. Could you switch the included scangearmp2 dependency to use the one with sane backend?

You're right. From a quick search, it seems that for all TS5000 the driver is the same.

I think so. It seems the field replaces is the way to go (https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/AUR_submission_guidelines).

Good point, I'll change it when I have spare time. Maybe it should just be TS5000 Series, since the ppd file is called canonts5000.ppd

But I guess in order to rename it, there needs to be a new package with the right name and this one needs to be marked for deletion - right?

Thanks.

Printers with modelnames TS5050, TS5051, TS5053 and TS5055 differ only by colours.

I think it'd be best to rename the package to ts5050 since it is the official name of the series (https://www.canon-europe.com/printers/pixma-ts5050-series/specifications/).

Also, it'd be nice to add all the modelnames into the description.
