I don’t know if this helps, but carla-discopvery issues warnings with virtually all plugins it detects. Most frequently, it’s ‘Plugin requested timeInfo but didn't ask if host could do "sendVstTimeInfo"’. Otherwise, it will be ‘Plugin requested idle more than once’. I won’t be around for the next couple of days. Will check back here as soon as I can.

My tests were performed with wine at 1.7.34.

I rebuilt carla and all the bridges and they still work for me. I'm going to try updating wine.

Rebuilt Carla, rebuilt the bridge. Same behaviour here.

I get no complain about any missing library. In fact, wine does not complain at all on my side.

i am using the non realtime wine. i confirm the same behaviour. but my assertion failures are line 530 and 2657. This may be a clue also it complains that wine cannot find the ncurses library libncursesw.so.5. Maybe the win exe portions are not installing properly ?

I downloaded wine-rt all the way back to 1.7.34, recompiled win bridges, behaviour remains the same. Sometimes, I get a time-out error box in the GUI. Other times, the plugin loads, but I get Carla assertion failure: "! fTimedOut" in file CarlaPluginBridge.cpp, line 2646 in the terminal, followed by waitForClient(process) timeout here waitForClient(deactivate) timeout here If I try to activate the plugin I get the former of the last two lines again, then on the next attempt, I get both again.

Could be wine, indeed. Mine’s wine-rt v. 1.7.40 from the ArchAudio repos. I was supposed to leave this afternoon, but things got delayed so this gives me tonight to do some testing. I will downgrade wine and report.
