@RetroBeatz: ah yes, sorry, yesterday before sleep I recalled that I missed it, updated repo just minutes ago.

Yes, downgrade also lib32-mesa, and remove libglvnd + lib32-libglvnd if you installed it

Vi0L0, What do you do in this conflict?

resolving dependencies...
looking for conflicting packages...
:: lib32-mesa and catalyst-test are in conflict (lib32-mesa-libgl). Remove catalyst-test? [y/N] n
error: unresolvable package conflicts detected
error: failed to prepare transaction (conflicting dependencies)
:: lib32-mesa and catalyst-test are in conflict

Do I do the same as the mesa fix or something different?

If you see this conflict:

looking for conflicting packages...
:: mesa and catalyst-test are in conflict (mesa-libgl). Remove catalyst-test? [y/N] n
error: unresolvable package conflicts detected
error: failed to prepare transaction (conflicting dependencies)
:: mesa and catalyst-test are in conflict

for now I've added mesa packages of 17.0.1-1 version to [catalyst]* and [catalyst-stable] - simply copied from archive:

Please downgrade if you updated mesa to -2 version.
After new version of mesa came out, I will build new mesa packages without glvnd support. Then I will most probably add new mesa package to aur. Will let know when it will happen

Server =$arch

good job sling00, just like you said - a bit of pruning and it's working pretty good on 4.10rc7 kernel :), thanks

jumped into this from amdgpu/[testing] and I'm surprised that plasma's compositing doesn't work :P, will look at it later, is it also crashing on your side?
compositing does work well on gnome thought

edit: I will work on repo update on tuesday

sorry for late answer.
For sure I will look at it and use it, just somewhere around rc6 - it's my usuall time when I'm preparing patches. Mostly because I don't have much free time and also because the kernel itself is, in most cases, "cristalized" then.

It's nice to hear good words and get precious present!
Thank you and may the Force be with you :)

I made a patchset for compiling the fglrx dkms module against 4.10-rc3 kernel,

It will probably need a bit of pruning to be worthy of being in the repo, primarily the get_user_pages_remote section which may need another if statement specifically for 4.10 instead of just modifying the 4.9 line as I have done. If nothing else this should help get people headed in the right direction.

-- Thank you for all your work on this, your patches / compilation of fixes have helped me tremendously in the past, and I wanted to take this opportunity to try to give back.

catalyst-test provides opencl-catalyst, it should also conflict it

Vi0L0 commented on 2016-12-10 20:41

- ocl-icd fixes
- initial 4.9 kernel support, hope i won't brake your system ;P, tested on 4.9-rc8
- _old_control variable for pre-gcn users who have problems with this driver, it brings control file from catalyst 15.9, you can pick it to be included by editing PKGBUILD

i missed opencl-driver because i didn't really used your patch, only red it.
but yesterday I found it independly :) also looking at opencl-nvidia and added it to my local repo. If I will find time I will update today, can't promise because I got some deadline.
About the opencl-icd-loader - I only found ocl-icd implementation, used pacman -sS for that, could miss something. Anyhow will change it.

btw: still can't hear confirmation about imagemagick CPU usage spikes on GNOME, maybe you experienced it?
