Update: plumbum's changes got merged by commandtab, so no need to change the repository. I still agree with @dini that clang should be a dependency...

I wasn't successful using commandtab's version of the tool to read an AT24C02A EEPROM.
https://blog.danman.eu/ch341a-usb-serial-eeprom-reader-under-linux/ hinted at the version at https://github.com/plumbum/ch341eeprom, which worked. You might want to consider switching to that version.
If so, you could pull my changes to your PKGBUILD from https://github.com/thierer/ch341eeprom-git, if you like. I also added clang as a build dependeny, as suggested by @dini.

Please add "clang" to Dependencies
