Please add this gpg key to install this package

gpg --recv-keys EB4F9E5A60D32232BB52150C12C87A28FEAC6B20

You can also add keyserver-options auto-key-retrieve to your ~/.gnupg/gpg.conf file.

If you have problems connecting to a Chromecast, just enable the following flag:

chrome://flags/#load-media-router-component-extension

and restart Chromium.

Thanks to maximbaz for providing pre-compiled binaries, and thanks to niklaszantner for the tip about Chromecast.

freefreeno: I also have an intel 630. After switching to regular chromium, then to FF, and still getting the lockups, I switched kernels to 4.19 and still had graphics locks-up with each of those. I switched to kubuntu and haven't had a lock up all week.

I think my [our?] problems may be related to xorg, or at least something else that I didn't list above.

@freefreeno: Could you please elaborate just what your system config is and what exactly your problems are? Because I'm sure there are a lot of people just like me who have a perfectly enjoyable experience with the very same package that you label 'just not usable'.

Chances are, there is some problem on your end, not with this package.

freefreeno commented on 2019-12-14 07:26

Please revert whatever was changed the latest update. The application is just about not usable. Causing lock ups for sometimes 10 min and then sometimes only when I am in the browser my pc will just log out and I will loose all kinds of work. I am running Intel HD 630 with intel-media-driver on i79750H. The version before this is when the problems started.

This version has been troublesome for me. It's freezing on page loads and tab switches, etc. My entire KDE desktop and system become unresponsive [not even VT switching] and requires power cycling.

Also, if I switch versions, this version requires clearing of all temp data and saved tabs before it will load pages at all. Just one or the other isn't enough. Clear all data and close all tabs.

Getting '404 Not Found' on the 78.0.3904.108-1, looks like maximbaz hasn't build it yet.

I guess I'll have to use regular Chromium until ICU 65 is stable...

The source is down!

those on manjaro with ICU issues, downgrade is here: https://pkgbuild.com/~maximbaz/repo/chromium-vaapi-78.0.3904.97-1-x86_64.pkg.tar.xz

nik_leonard commented on 2019-11-15 14:09

Please note that Manjaro Stable still doesn't have upgraded ICU to v65. Only the unstable branch has it.
