I am encountering the same issue as Hurricane, where no icon shows up on the panel. I am still able to click a small empty space where the icon should be to reach the wireless menu, however. My wireless driver provides Link Quality information.

its been a while since I used this. Please check if your wireless driver provides Link Quality information (iwconfig). Some of them don't, in which case the applet doesn't have the information necessary to calculate the signal level strength, and the corresponding icon to display

The applet works fine except for the fact that there is no icon showing the wireless signal on my panel. Is there a fix for it?

1. displays netctl status on the systray. The tooltip provides more info - hover near the icon.
2. Enables the user to switch manually between profiles. The auto profile is automatically disabled if enabled, and netctl connects using the specified profile.
3. Enable the auto profile. The currently connected manual profile is disabled and auto profile is enabled.
4. has menu item to run wifi-menu and add new profiles
