@russkel: See the comments below -- it only does that if you're using an AUR helper. Regular makepkg only downloads it once.

I can't help but think this added complexity and making everyone download Clion 5 times per update is worth it for the limited number of people who want a split installation. What about renaming this package clion-standalone and then making one that does the standard install? That way the clion-* packages can be removed.

install fails with this error: could not extract /opt/clion/plugins/settings-repository/lib/jgit.jar (Lzma library error: No progress is possible)

@Marcel_K Thanks and yes, using
yaourt
. Next time I try usingmakepkg

You probably are using an AUR-helper that does that. If you run
makepkg
yourself, you won't see this behaviour.marcin commented on 2018-04-13 01:43 (UTC)
Is it normal that upgrading the following five packages to clion-1:2018.1.1-1 clion-cmake-1:2018.1.1-1 clion-gdb-1:2018.1.1-1 clion-jre-1:2018.1.1-1 clion-lldb-1:2018.1.1-1 requires re-downloading and re-processing CLion-2018.1.1.tar.gz five times?
Zrax commented on 2018-04-02 16:01 (UTC)
All 5 split packages come from the single tarball downloaded from JetBrains -- there's no way to split the other parts out until after the whole tarball is downloaded. I split them out because some people prefer not to install some of the optional components.

It seems that when each of its dependencies are installed, i.e. clion-cmake, clion-jre etc., the archive for CLion (CLion-2018.1.tar.gz) is downloaded again every time? Is that the right thing to do or is there some configuration issue on my side?
